Return Policy
At The Simple Society, we want you to feel confident when shopping with us. This policy explains how returns and refunds work, and how your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) apply. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the ACL, you are always entitled to a remedy if your goods are faulty, damaged, or unsafe.
Change of Mind Returns
We accept change-of-mind returns within 30 days from the date you receive your order.

Returns for change of mind will be issued as store credit.

Items must be in original condition: unused, unwashed, with all tags attached and in the original packaging.

Proof of purchase is required.

Customers are responsible for return postage for change-of-mind returns.
Faulty or Damaged Items
If your item arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us straight away at support@thesimplesocietyshop.com with details and photos.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under the ACL.

For faulty or damaged items, we will cover the cost of return shipping or provide another reasonable solution.
How to Start a Return
Please email us first at support@thesimplesocietyshop.com for approval and instructions. Returns sent without prior approval will not be accepted.
Non-Returnable Items
Unless faulty, the following items cannot be returned:

Gift cards
Sale items may be returned for store credit if noted at checkout. If a sale item is faulty, your ACL rights still apply.
Parcel Protection
We recommend adding Parcel Protection at checkout for extra cover against lost or stolen parcels. The Simple Society is not personally liable for lost or stolen parcels without this protection.
If you choose not to add this protection, you may still be entitled to a remedy under the ACL if your order is not delivered or arrives damaged.
Exchanges
We don’t offer direct exchanges. To swap an item, return your original order through the process above. Once processed, you can place a new order using your store credit or refund (where applicable).
Processing Your Return

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll let you know if it’s approved.

Store credit will be applied within 10 business days. Refunds (where applicable) will be returned to your original payment method.

Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to finalise the refund. If you haven’t received your funds within 15 business days, please contact us at support@thesimplesocietyshop.com.
European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
For orders shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days for any reason. The items must be returned in the same condition as received—unworn or unused, with all tags and in original packaging, along with a receipt or proof of purchase.
Consumer Guarantees
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited by this policy. For goods that are faulty, do not match description, or are not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement or refund) under the consumer guarantees.
