Returns Policy
At The Simple Society, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If you change your mind, we offer returns in line with the terms below. This policy operates in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Change of Mind Returns (Store Credit)
If you change your mind about your purchase, you may return your item within 30 days of receiving your order for store credit.
To be eligible for a change of mind return, items must be unused, unworn, unwashed, in original condition, with all tags attached and original packaging included. Proof of purchase is required.
Customers are responsible for covering return shipping costs for change of mind returns. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items (Australian Consumer Law)
If your item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, not as described, or does not meet acceptable quality standards, you are entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the nature of the issue, this may include a refund, replacement, or repair where applicable. The appropriate resolution will be determined in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, please email support@thesimplesocietyshop.com with your order number, reason for return, and supporting photos where relevant (for faulty or damaged items).
If your return request is approved, we will provide detailed instructions on how and where to send your item. Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.
Return addresses are provided via email once your return request has been approved by our support team.
Delivery Issues and Parcel Investigations
If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery timeframe, or is marked as delivered but cannot be located, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will work directly with the courier to investigate delivery issues and provide updates throughout the process. Customers who selected Parcel Protection at checkout may be eligible for priority resolution where applicable.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for change of mind returns:
- Custom or personalised products
- Gift cards
- Final sale items (unless faulty under Australian Consumer Law)
If you are unsure whether your item qualifies for return, please contact our support team before sending your item back.
Exchanges
If you would like to exchange an item, please return the original item using the standard return process. Once your return has been approved and processed, you may place a new order for the replacement item.
European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
For orders shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it for any reason. Items must be returned unused, unworn, with all tags attached and in original packaging, along with proof of purchase.
Store Credit Processing
Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. If approved, store credit will be issued within 10 business days and applied to your customer account. If you have not received your store credit within this timeframe, please contact support@thesimplesocietyshop.com for assistance.
